Notes on this view:

This photograph was likely taken and printed by a professional photographer documenting a children's play. The print measures 5x7 inches, which is a standard print size. Notice the close proximity of the camera to the subject. Also notice the stage lighting.

The play is a Raggedy Ann and Andy play. Raggedy Ann dolls and books were introduced in 1918 written by Johnny Gruelle. Andy, Ann's brother, was introduced two years later. In the books Ann and Andy come to life while humans are not looking and go on a variety of adventures. The books were immensely popular with Gruelle averaging a new book every year. In 1941 an animated film was released featuring the brother and sister duo.
