Notes on this view:

Due to the simplicity of the process, cyanotypes had many practical applications. This photograph is one of several from a series depicting machinery and machine parts from the Swiss milling machine company, La Rigide S.A. It was likely internally distributed for training purposes. Holes from a prong fastener and wear (a water spot and paper clip rust) indicate the object’s utilitarian nature. A company stamp has been applied to the surface of the print and an identification number has been added to the negative.

Based upon the machinery depicted, this image was taken during the mid-20th century.
