Photojournalists were of the first photographers to utilize color photography. Notice the label on the bottom of the mat identifies the photographer (Lynn Rogers), the news source (L.A. Times), the original imaging process (4 x 5 Kodachrome), and the date (1940).

This image depicts Balanced Rock in Chiricahua National Monument in southeast Arizona. The national park is famous for its vertical rock formations.
