Notes on this view:

This 1890s cabinet card is a studio portrait. There is no vignette, allowing the studio décor to play a more important role in the image. Notice the interaction of the sitters with the studio props. The woman is sitting sideways in her chair and holds a stereoviewer. There is a stack of stereoviews on the table, placed as if she were just looking at them, as well as two flowerpots. The image gives the viewer the sense of having just walked into this couple's private space, while at the same time having all the trappings of a professional studio portrait. Also notice the floor is covered with fabric, which is wrinkled under the man's foot.
