This French, metallic postcard from the 1920's represents a style of novelty postcards popular in the early 20th century. These postcards, with coloring and imagery reminiscent of cinema, were especially popular in Europe. France, in particular, was a leading producer of such luxury postcards; several major postcard-publishing houses were located in Paris during the 1920's. Publisher's marks were often printed directly into the photographic image. Notice the publisher's mark in the bottom left hand corner of this postcard.
